Body Tambura and Monochord
This type of receptive sound bath works with two instruments built specifically for vibrational sound work: the body tambura and the monochord, desgined by Klangwerkstatt Deutz Berlin. Both produce long, sustained, richly overtone-laden sounds, played directly on or near the body rather than simply listened to from a distance, allowing the sound to be felt as vibration through the body.
You lie down in a comfortable, supported position as the instruments are played around and or directly beside or above you, letting their resonance move through the space and the body itself. The layered overtones of the tambura and monochord create a slow-moving, immersive soundscape, creating a session built for stillness, deep rest, and restorative relaxation.
What to Expect
Sessions take place in a quiet, comfortable setting. You remain fully clothed throughout, lying down for the full duration of the session. No prior experience with sound work is needed, simply the willingness to lie still and let the sound do its work.
